Wakunaga Pharmaceutical has been actively pursuing a global strategy, not just inJapan. Starting with export to Australia in 1964, in 1972 we established a local subsidiary Wakunaga of America, in the USA, and began selling dietary supplements containing aged garlic extract all over the world under the Kyolic brand. To date, we have sold garlic to over 50 countries, and we feature the top share in the garlic health food market, especially in the USA.
Furthermore, in 2017, we established a local subsidiary in Germany, Wakunaga of Europe, to expand business in Europe, and in 2022, our Kyolic kapseln, a single formulation of aged garlic extract, received drug approval in Germany for its efficacy in preventing arteriosclerosis. Wakunaga Pharmaceutical will continue to aim for further growth while supporting the philosophy of “staying healthy forever” and “to live a long and healthy life”.
